Deputy Minister Hoti had a high-level meeting in the German government

Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Rexhep Hoti, during his official visit to Germany, had high-level meetings in the German government.

Deputy Minister met with Matthias Luttenberg, deputy head for Central, Southeast and Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, in the Chancellery of Germany, with whom he discussed the issue of enhancing cooperation between Kosovo and Germany in the field of culture, as well as the possibility of youth employment.

They also discussed the aspect of values in the frame of cultural heritage and the possibility of increasing tourism through assets of cultural and archaeological heritage of our country.

In particular, there was discussed Ulpiana, the museum in Kishnica as well as lighting of Paleo-Christian churches in Kosovo, as one of the most precious values of Christianity in the regions of the Central Dardania.

During the meeting, it was also discussed the possibility of opening professional schools in German language in Kosovo and the possibility of joint projects for the Albanian Diaspora, which would be able to invest in Kosovo.

Another topic of discussion between Deputy Minister Hoti and representatives of the German Government was demarcation and freedom of movement.

With emphasis there was also discussed the role of the media, financial difficulties and their independence.

It was also looked into the possibility of joint projects in the direction of supporting the media and their irreplaceable role in the fight against crime and corruption.

Luttenberg expressed his satisfaction towards Kosovo’s membership in the European and world sports institutions which have yielded good results, citing Kosovo's participation in the Olympics, medals as well as brilliant start of the Kosovo national team in football.

He spoke about the 35th chapter of Serbia in relation to Kosovo and the unwavering position of Merkel for the normalization of relations between Prishtina and Belgrade.

Deputy Minister Hoti had a working lunch with Dr. Herlind Gundelach, MP of the Christian Democratic Union in the German Bundestag and discussed a wide range of issues of great importance in terms of cooperation and further strengthening of relations between the two countries
