The collective contract for workers of culture will encourage increase of creativity and effectiveness in the field of culture

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi met today with heads of the United Union of Education, Science and Culture (UUESC), led by the chairman, Rrahman Jasharaj.

Between Minister Gashi and president Jasharaj was discussed about the situation where the professional cultural workers find themselves and the steps to be taken in order to improve the rights and conditions for this category.

Chairman Jasharaj congratulated the minister for taking up the new post. He said he expects from Minister Gashi to cooperate with the union so that cultural workers, creators who are engaged in cultural institutions in the country, are taken into account and jointly coordinated to finalize the collective contract with the category in question.

"It is necessary to establish a joint working group of UUESC and MCYS to finalize collective contracts for cultural workers", said Jasharaj.

Minister Gashi said that he will work closely with UUESC in order to protect the interests of workers in the cultural sector by offering the readiness and full commitment to fulfill the duties and obligations of the Ministry as a serious partner in co-ordinating all issues that are of common interest for both parties.

"Creators, performers, and culture professionals will benefit from what will be foreseen under the collective contract, a document to be completed and signed very soon. All efforts required will be made by MCYS to successfully finalize this important document. I wish the collective contract will be an incentive to increase creativity and efficiency in culture, "said Minister Gashi.
