Kosovo's cultural heritage with assets for permanent protection

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, met today with Shafi Gashi, chairman of the Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage, accompanied by members of the council, where there was signed the decision for inclusion in the List of Cultural Heritage assets for permanent protection of twenty-three (23) sites, according to the proposals reviewed by the Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage for the inclusion of these assets in the list of sites under permanent protection status.

Minister Kujtim Shala on this occasion congratulated the Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage for the work done, and said that this act is very important for Kosovo's cultural heritage; in view of preserving this rich heritage and its affirmation.

Shala also said that this list is a good basis to further that this heritage now has a special status and as such receives a more significant care.

He further said that Kosovo's cultural heritage is in the interest of the country, and therefore requires comprehensive cooperation, so that it can be preserved, cultivated and promoted as the value of Kosovo.

Chairman of the Council for Cultural Heritage of Kosovo, Shafi Gashi, said that this is the first list of permanent protection, for which a lot of work was done, and added that for each asset included in this list were made special assessments.

President Gashi also regarded this act as very important decision for cultural heritage of Kosovo.
