MCYS, a strong supporter of cultural initiatives of foreign investors

Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Rexhep Hoti welcomed today in a meeting Vjosa Huruglica, head of the commercial office at the Embassy of Austria in Kosovo and Milazim Salihu, Director of Cineplexx Kosova SH.PK, with whom he talked about support for the Austrian investor, CINEPLEXX KINOBETRIEBE GMBH, which is now active also in Kosovo.

Milazim Salihu, company’s representative for Kosovo and informed the deputy minister that the Austrian company plans to open in October a modern multiplex cinema in the shopping center premises of Albi Mall.

Talking about cinema, Salihu said that it is extremely necessary to have a reduction of VAT on cinema tickets and appealed MCYS for help in this regard.

Deputy Minister Hoti praised the importance of building such a cinema, considering it a very important cultural project.

He offered the support of the Ministry regarding the idea of lowering VAT on cinema tickets.

Meanwhile, Vjosa Huruglica, an official of the Embassy of Austria, thanked the Deputy Minister for the support and jointly agreed that in the coming days, they will consider the possibility to put this idea into action in terms of reducing the VAT on tickets, as a tool to attract more people interested in cinema.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Hoti added that MCYS will always be supportive of such initiatives by foreign investors for important cultural projects.
