Minister Gashi: We are strongly committed to making people with special needs part of dif-ferent sports activities and competitions

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi participated in the opening of mini-Olympics for people with special needs within the European Week of Sport which will be concluded tomorrow.
On this occasion, Minister Gashi said "this organization is very special because we have joined in this activity many special people with whom the state of Kosovo, the Ministry of Sport and all the mechanisms should be together to support the people with the needs of special and they feel equal in every life process, especially in sports activities, "said Minister Gashi.

"Kosovo with today's activity at the European summit of the sport that will happen tomorrow has united all the mechanisms that once again show the commitment of our state but also our friends in the EU. In fact, for the first time we are organizing the European week of sport is an extraordinary good initiative to have as many new and young people as possible in mass sports, "said Minister Gashi.

"Kosovo has a generally low participation of young people in sports activities. We as Ministry are doing a great job in advancing and building the sports infrastructure not only in the capital but also in other municipalities", the minister added.

While Director of OSCE's Public Safety Department, Ake Roghe said he is happy to have helped maintain this activity. He announced that within this week they donated 48 carts and other aids. He further called for more work to remove bar-riers for people with special needs and ancillary equipment.

Meanwhile, Njomza Emini, president of the Paralympic Committee, at the opening of the mini-game, thanked the collaborators who made this event possible. She has also announced that they have applied to the International Paralympic Committee to become part of it next year.
