Press Release

23.08.2018

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports would like to clarify the public opinion about the dilemmas that have arisen in recent days concerning the match between KF 'Prishtina' and KF 'Gjilani'.

The Ministry of Sports is the main investor in this project. This project is considered unfinished and according to the data of the supervisory body this project will be technically accepted only after the final report of UEFA. Upon receipt of this report, the parties involved in the process (Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Environment, Pristina Municipality, Kosovo Football Federation and the company) will begin the technical acceptance of the stadium.

As it is known, a few days ago, the first test match between KF 'Prishtina' and KF 'Drita' for the Super Cup of Kosovo was held, a match organized by FFK which was monitored by UEFA officials . The first indications of UEFA officials are that the Pristina stadium "Fadil Vokrri" meets the criteria of UEFA as a category IV stadium, so this is a positive news for institutions, sports and sports fans in our country, because Kosovo will eventually play for the first time at the renovated stadium that bears the name of the football legend Fadil Vokrri.

Minister Kujtim Gashi publicly stated that after the technical acceptance and certification by UEFA, the stadium will be handed over to the Municipality of Pristina as the owner, which will then decide on all the management procedures, care, but also the way of using the stadium.

MCYS and Minister Gashi have been committed since the first day of taking office to make the completion of all works at the Prishtina Stadium "Fadil Vokrri" as one of the most capital projects in improving the sports infrastructure in our country.

Also, we inform the public that after today's meeting between the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, the Mayor of Prishtina, Shpend Ahmeti and the President of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Agim Ademi, the parties agreed that the championship match between KF 'Prishtina 'and KF' Drenica 'scheduled for September 2 will be played at the' Fadil Vokrri 'Stadium, which will serve as a second test game before the game that Kosovo will play at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium.
