Minister Gashi: Youth, the most vital part of our society

Today was organized the ceremony for singing the contract between MCYS and 119 civil society organizations, youth organizations, beneficiaries in the youth sector, from recent public announcements on topics: culture, sport, recreation; human security; health education; empowerment and participation of young people, prevention of extremism.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, who was pleased to sign contracts between MCYS and organizations for projects that the ministry supports through public calls.

"We will pursue a new practice that aims to present all the projects that benefit youth organizations and youth in general in the Republic of Kosovo in a ceremonial way to be transparent to the public as well as to justify each cent the MCYS allocates to youth organizations", said Minister Gashi.

The Minister instructed the beneficiary youths that the projects they were awarded to implement according to the foreseen criteria and asked them to have concrete impact during the implementation of the projects.

The minister said that they are working within MCYS to restructure the Department of Youth in how to distribute support for young people.

"Kosovo needs to focus on a new program that will help young people to prepare for the labor market, to determine the profile of each young person in the future through these youth projects", said inter alia the Minister, informing young people that MCYS will for the first time create a fund for youth in their support as well as for building a multifunctional youth complex, the first such, not only in Kosovo but also in the Balkan region.

Minister Gashi informed the youth that within the support MCYS allocates financial means and supports projects for the youth of minority communities.

The minister finally urged young people to increase co-operation between them and expand their organizations and youth networks because youth is the most vital part of our society, the minister concluded.
