The Albanian President Meta and Minister Gashi visited the Ulpiana Park

In the framework of the agenda in his official visit to Kosovo, the Albanian President Ilir Meta, accompanied by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, visited the Archaeological Park “Ulpiana”.

President Meta and Minister Gashi had a close look at the three sectors that this archaeological site has, which is rich in many objects and elements of the antiquity period.

Minister Gashi briefed President Meta on the support given by MCYS related to investments in the Ulpiana Park through the Kosovo Archaeological Institute, considering it as one of the main priorities of the archaeological heritage of the Republic of Kosovo. The minister said the year 2018 will be the year of heritage.

Meanwhile, the park supervisor Milot Berisha, briefed the President about the history of the park, its sectors and facilities, as well as the excavation, conservation and restoration process.

On his part, President Meta said that he feels pleased to visit this site of special importance not only for Kosovo but for the entire Albanian area and such parks are assets that we should preserve and appreciate.
