Kosovo and Montenegro with an agreement on cultural cooperation

The Government of Kosovo and the Government of Montenegro have today signed a cultural agreement that regulates and concretises cultural cooperation between the two states.

The agreement was signed by the Ministers of Culture of the two countries, Kujtim Shala and Janko Ljumović, in the presence of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa.

Initially, Prime Minister Mustafa welcomed in a meeting the Minister of Culture of Montenegro, Janko Ljumoviq, where they talked about the cooperation of the two countries, with special emphasis on the field of culture.

Prime Minister Mustafa, on this occasion, praised the very good bilateral relations between the two states, highlighting Kosovo's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Montenegro.

After the meeting, Kosovo Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Kujtim Shala and Minister of Culture of Montenegro, Janko Ljumović, signed the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation, which aims to expand cooperation between the responsible institutions of the two countries in the field of culture, by supporting cooperation in all fields of culture and art, to familiarize and present to the public and third parties, cultural heritage and contemporary cultural achievements of both countries.

Under the agreement, Kosovo and Montenegro will also engage in promoting co-operation between their respective institutions, which are responsible for areas such as archives, libraries, museums, literature, music, visual arts and performances, publishing activities, cinematography and other audiovisual media. Likewise, the two countries will promote direct cooperation in the field of music and dance, exchange of information and mutual invitations to music, ballet, dancing and other international events held in the territory of their countries.
