MCYS awarded prizes in the field of cultural heritage

Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, at a ceremony organized today in Ulpiana Archaeological Park, where was also present the Minister Kujtim Shala, awarded the prizes in the field of cultural heritage, which are given for the first time based on the regulation on Awarding Prizes in the field of Cultural Heritage.

As noted, the Prize for Life’s Work in the Field of Cultural Heritage "Dea Dardanicae" was given to Edi Shukriu; The Annual Award for Special Merits in the field of cultural heritage "Shtjefën Gjeqovi" is given to Prof. Jean-Luc Lamboley; The annual Prize for Scientific Work in the Field of Cultural Heritage "Zef Mirdita" is given to Jusuf Buxhovi; The annual prize for Institutional Management in the field of cultural heritage "Muhamed Shukriu" is given to Arton Hoxha.

The prize laureates expressed their satisfaction with this assessment and thanked Minister Kujtim Shala for the care he has shown for the cultural heritage, saying that the cultural heritage has a special value for the state of Kosovo.

Based on Regulation No.09 / 2016 on Awarding Cultural Heritage Prizes, prizes are accompanied by financial rewards. The "Dea Dardanicae" Life’s work Award is rewarded with five thousand euro (€ 5,000), while the other annual awards Shtjefën Gjeqovi; "Zef Mirdita" and "Muhamed Shukriu" are rewarded with 2500 Euros.

The professional jury has consisted of: Ukë Xhema, ethnologist; Arben Hajdari, archaeologist; Florina Jerliu, architects; Muhamet Mala, historian; and Lajde Kolgjeraj, chairman of the Ethnocultural Ensemble "Katarina Josipi".
