A football stadium with international criteria is being built in Ferizaj

MCYS Minister Kujtim Shala and Mayor of Ferizaj Muharrem Svarqa signed today a memorandum of cooperation for the construction of the city stadium in Ferizaj, worth 10 million euros.

The two signatories assessed that this is one of the biggest investments made in Ferizaj and surrounding areas in the recent years, as well as providing direct support for the development and promotion of sport.

Minister Shala said that besides the investment, important is the good partnership with the municipality of Ferizaj, which is crowned with a capital work, while the chairman Svarqa praised the project as very important for the municipality of Ferizaj and for the sports infrastructure in general.

The stadium construction project, according to the memorandum signed, is expected to be implemented from this year until 2021. The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports is obliged to invest 8 million and 30 thousand Euros, to participate in contract supervision and to take care of the project implementation, together with the Municipality of Ferizaj.

Whereas the municipality of Ferizaj is obliged to invest 1 million and 300 thousand Euros at the end of the project, to manage and develop procedures for implementation of the memorandum.

The city stadium in Ferizaj is planned to be built near the "Bill Clinton" sports hall and will meet the criteria of the European and world football federation.

Minister Shala also visited the area where the new stadium will be built.
