Kosovo and Albania sign the Common Cultural Calendar

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala and Minister of Culture of the Republic of Albania, Mirela Kumbaro- Furxhi, signed today the Protocol of Cooperation in the field of culture between the two countries. With this act, the two ministries of culture, as in previous years, have agreed on the inclusion of cultural activities of two countries within the framework of the Common Cultural Calendar. This calendar aims at mutual recognition and promotion of Albanian culture through the implementation of joint activities and mutual cultural exchanges of institutions of culture of both countries.

With the signing of the Common Cultural Calendar, Albania and Kosovo, deepen cultural cooperation, and simultaneously strengthen common cultural space, which is the purpose of this Calendar.

Two ministers of culture, Shala and Kumbaro-Furxhi last year regarded it as very successful, since the Common Cultural Calendar has been implemented well enough, and promised that this close cooperation, which is in the interest of culture, will continue this year with the same dynamics.

Also, Shala and Kumbaro-Furxhi, said that through the creation of a common cultural space, and intensifying cooperation in the field of culture, will be created better conditions for integration, and for the affirmation and recognition of further common cultural values.

Minister Shala said that the Common Calendar also this year aims to enhance and promote national culture within the Albanian space, including events and important cultural activities, and added that with this act, the Albanian culture is approaching and communicating naturally with each other.

Common Cultural Calendar is the result of the joint Declaration on cooperation and strategic partnership between the Council of Ministers of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

This year, under the Common Cultural Calendar, are foreseen a series of joint activities, which will be realized in Albania and Kosovo, according to the program and calendar foreseen in the field of theater, libraries, book, heritage, film, visual and musical arts, copyright.
