Eqrem Basha has been awarded the prize

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, after the evaluation of the Professional Jury, has signed decisions for the laureates for 2016, for National Literature Prize for Life’s Work "Azem Shkreli" and Annual Prizes for literature.
National Literature Prize for Life’s Work "Azem Shkreli" is awarded to Eqrem Basha, which is accompanied by monetary reward in the amount of 5,000 (five thousand) Euros, plaque and certificate.

The prize for the best critical literary work, essayistic "Ibrahim Rugova" is awarded to Gezim Aliu for the study "Ismail Kadare's novels, 1963 - 1990, text and narrative rhetoric." The prize for the best literary work for children "Vehbi Kikaj" is awarded to the author Fatmire Duraku for the prose "Dea dhe kërriç i vetmuar”. The prize for the best work of fiction "Anton Pashku" is awarded to the writer Majlinda Bregasi for the novel "Ikje". Meanwhile, the prize for the best work translated into Albanian and vice versa, "Pjeter Bogdani" for the translation of the novel "Të vdesësh në pranverë" by Ralph Rothman. Each of the prizes will be awarded in cash worth 2,500 Euros.

The prize for the best work in poetry "Ali Podrimja" is awarded to the authors Demë Topalli for the work "Sytë që dine me pa" and Abdullah Zeneli for "Vetmia e mermertë". Both authors will be rewarded with monetary value of 1,250 Euros.

Professional jury was composed by Anton Berishaj - chairman, Musa Ramadani, Nerimane Kamberi, Xhevat Sylaj and Agron Gashi - members.
